The entire team has been going full speed ahead as we prepare for the MORE McKenzies 500 mile desert race in Lucerne Valley, CA. This will be the first race for the Class 5 unlimited with the new Ford Duratec 2.0 motor and we are very excited about the motor update. “The motor has a great power band and with the fuel injection setup we really have a big advantage” stated Duane McCreary. The TPM car is race ready and the crew starts the 18 hour drive this Saturday with the rest of the crew members flying in throughout next week. We plan on testing the car early in the week making shock adjustments because of the weight change to the car. We will spend all of next week out in the desert getting the car dialed in for the race and look forward to getting back to the dirt.
We would like to take a few seconds and thank some of our sponsors for this race. 2 MILLION DOGS is an amazing organization that focuses on canine cancer research and is no stranger to going the distance and being part of a winning team. Make sure you check out the entire story at: www.2milliondogs.org Alamo Hotrod Parts….. the name says it all. This is a company that LIVES racing, LIVES hotrods and helps us put the TPM car in the winner circle. Next time you need parts, they are the place to go. Give them a call and tell them you love desert racing!
We will post updates all week long so check back soon!
Most of the west coast crew(Andrew, Danny and Vicki) are flying in to run the Class 5 Unlimited at the Baja Racing of Texas “Chupacabra 300”, along with Allen and Duane running the Class 12 single seater, this should be a epic race. Both cars are battling for the overall points lead in its class, and it will come down to the final finishing order, deciding the year end overall winner in both classes.
The www.tokipoki.com cars have done well this year, and team Tokipoki has had strong finishes all year long with a solid 5th place finish in the BITD Vegas to Reno (500 mile) race last month. Make sure you check out the website for great gifts and fun for the kids!
Make sure you get to the races, get involved, and we will see you in the dirt!
Come out to the Texana Ranch this weekend for a fun and relaxing weekend of safe & responsible outdoor sports activities. The desert loop (42 miles) will be open allowing desert, motorcycle, ATV/UTV racers to run the course safely.
The first event of the 2011 season for BRT will be the “Blackwell 250″ in Blackwell Texas.
This race is limited to 40 entries! We have OVER half of the field pre-registered as of 3/3/2011. Don’t miss being part of the BRT “first 40″.
Cool weather, lots of turns, and long straight-aways combine for The BRT’s first points race of the season. This 40+ mile course has altitude changes, challenging terrain, and fast lines. This course is all about trusting your navigator and car setup! We have (4) “either , or” sections on the course allowing for passing and faster lines. This will give the navigators options in the dust, and the ability to move around slower cars if needed.
September 15-18 (Blackwell Texas) More Information Coming…
The Chupacabra 250 will finish the BRT season in style with Pre-Race Party, Great Racing, Costume Party for the kids!
